Letter From Harvey to Glenna

Dear Glenna,

For a long time now we have been planning our engagement. Now it’s becoming a reality. All that is left is for me to speak to your father. Darling this is the one thing that I am afraid of. It was hard enough to get the ring, but our good friend George has been helpful in procuring the diamond. It is needless to say that without his help we might have had to postpone even longer. But now that this obstacle is overcome, all that is left is my little talk with your father. Darling suppose he objects. What then? I feel sure that he wont object to me, but he might feel that were too young. But I will cross that bridge when we come to it.

Now for the setting. When we talked to the jeweler he mentioned several types of settings. Both because you are the one who will wear the ring and because I value your judgement very highly I feel you should have the final say in the matter. When we see the jeweler again we can discuss it. About your father all I can do is hope and pray that everything will turn out alright. Until we meet Saturday.

All My Love,

Harvey
